Here’s your election-ready checklist for the November 2026 General Election

Ballots for the Nov. 3, 2026, General Election will be mailed to all active registered voters in Douglas County beginning on Friday, Oct. 2. Follow this checklist to make sure you are election-ready, and remember, DouglasCOVotes.gov is your official source for election information.

Update your voter registration or register to vote. Visit Colorado’s secure, statewide voter registration database, GoVoteColorado.gov, to register to vote, check your voter registration status, select your political affiliation, or update your mailing address. If your mailing address has changed since you last voted in a Douglas County election, update it now to ensure you receive your mail ballot and other important election information.
Sign up to track your mail ballot. Visit DouglasCOVotes.gov to sign up for phone, text, or email notifications from BallotTrax and watch your ballot from the time it’s mailed to you to when it’s accepted at Douglas County Elections.
Locate your closest Ballot Drop Box or Voter Service and Polling Center (VSPC). Did you know that more than 90% of Douglas County voters deliver their ballots for free using one of the convenient ballot drop box locations countywide? Twenty-three secure ballot drop boxes will be open 24 hours a day beginning Oct. 2, 2026, through 7 p.m. on Election Day, Nov. 3, 2026. For those who need in-person voter assistance, VSPC locations will begin opening across Douglas County on Monday, Oct. 19. Visit a VSPC of your choice to register to vote or update your voter registration, replace a ballot, drop off your voted ballot, vote in person, or use an ADA-accessible voting machine until 7 p.m. on Election Day.
