For Immediate Release: County Recognized BOE for Efforts During Unprecedented 2020 Election
Fonda—The Montgomery County Board of Elections staff, along with 154 poll workers were recognized in December for ensuring the public was able to safety and efficiently participate in early voting and the General Election.
“I am happy to recognize the efforts of the 154 hardworking election workers during these trying times,” Montgomery County District 9 Legislator Robert A. Purtell said. “The recognition is well deserved and we greatly appreciate their efforts.”
Staff in the Board of Elections faced an unprecedented 2020 election season due to the Covid-19 pandemic and were forced to adjust their practices to ensure public safety. For months, they planned and successfully implemented procedures to ensure Montgomery County residents could vote safety.
“We are proud of your ability to adapt during such a difficult situation,” Montgomery County Executive Matthew L. Ossenfort said. “Your efforts resulted in a safe and healthy election and for that we thank you.”
